The things you want to consider when it comes to minimizing your cellulite is work on firming muscles in the areas where cellulite is a problem, reduce body fat, boosting circulation, and engaging in a low-carb diet.
To firm up the muscles in the areas where cellulite is known to be visible try a few targeted exercises. One to add to your routine is step ups where you step onto a bench or platform, and then step down with the same leg. Try to get about a repetition of 20 per leg in your routine.
Another exercise to incorporate is squats. This can be some individual’s least favorite exercise, but you’ll feel the burn. To perform a squat, you want to balance your body on your heels and bring your hips down and back like you’re going to sit in a chair. 50 repetitions are recommended for this exercise.
A final exercise for firming up muscles is lunges. You can do these as stationary or walking lunges. Move forward a step, and then lower your body. Your front knee should be over your ankle if you’re doing this step properly. Step back, and repeat or move forward if you are doing walking lunges. You should add this one about 30 to 50 times to your routine.
A good way to improve your circulation is through exercise as both cardio and strength training will improve your blood flow. Also, switching the water in your shower from cold to hot and back again can help your circulation.
Diet and Body Fat
Lean proteins and vegetables can be a good way to jumpstart your efforts to reduce the appearance of cellulite in your body. Try to reduce the number of carbohydrates you eat along with sugars, starches, alcohol, fruits with a lot of sugar, and processed foods.
If you are one of those lucky people that can remove any trace of cellulite, good for you, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t hope for the rest of us. At the end of the day, you may not be able to completely get rid of your cellulite even if you do everything right, but you can help to improve the way that it looks and the way that you feel about yourself.
